In addition to serving as Pastor of Briensburg United Methodist Church (UMC), Bill Lawson is also Technical Communications Consultant for the Memphis Conference UMC, and a UMCom National Trainer (CMT-3) and consultant for the Communications Ministry Training Program.

Bill Lawson was called to preach as a child, and his life has been shaped by the winding ministry paths this calling has taken ever since. In addition to a variety of church positions, he also has a background in educational and business data and technology services. Bill has a passion for combining pastoral evangelism and web ministry for the emerging church of our times, especially in the United Methodist expression, and is grateful for the many opportunities Christ provides him for service, both online and offline.

Recently retired Memphis Conference Clergy and Associate for Technical Communications, Bill continues to serve in the pastoral ministry and technical communications roles. His focus has shifted to writing and consulting. He intends to work more from the boat, travel extensively, and enjoy more time with family. His passion to fulfill the Call to Preach through all of these activities continues to intensify daily.

Bill’s professional memberships include UMAC (United Methodist Association of Communicators), UMITA (United Methodist Information Technology Association), and NFLP&AM (National Fellowship of Local Pastors and Associate Members). Bill completed the Ministerial Course of Study at Candler School of Theology, Emory University and attended University of Kentucky Community Colleges at Henderson and Madisonville, University of Evansville, and Anderson University. Continuing education through courses, workshops and retreats include ongoing opportunities for spiritual formation, technology, communication and pastoral care learning opportunities.
